During the visit, Hon. Emaju met Henry Basaliza, Deputy Director of Mobilisation and a member of the PLU Central Executive Committee (CEC), as well as Hon. Frank Mwesigye from the Office of Operations.

The engagement provided an opportunity to strengthen coordination, exchange views and reaffirm the commitment to building a stronger PLU presence at the grassroots, particularly in the Teso Sub-region.

Hon. Emaju’s visit comes at a time when his political journey has placed Kasilo County prominently within the PLU and NRM story. He has emerged as the first PLU/NRM Member of Parliament for Kasilo County, following his victory over long-serving former MP Elijah Okupa, who had represented the constituency for 25 years.

His election marked a significant political breakthrough in Kasilo and demonstrated the growing influence of the PLU movement beyond its traditional areas of strength.

During the engagement, Hon. Frank Mwesigye described Hon. Emaju as his “big brother from the East” and commended him for raising the PLU flag high in Teso. He also appreciated Emaju’s unwavering support for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba and his continued efforts to strengthen the movement in the region.

For Hon. Emaju, the visit was not merely a courtesy call but an opportunity to deepen relationships within the PLU leadership and contribute to the movement’s broader mobilisation and organisational agenda.

As PLU continues to expand its structures and consolidate its presence across the country, Emaju’s role in Teso places him at an important intersection between grassroots mobilisation, parliamentary representation and regional political coordination.
